| Apart from Standard Motor Cars, this website
supports only one other vehicle.
Those members attending RIAT last weekend will have been
fortunate enough to see a display by the only surviving Vulcan
Bomber, and piloted by the same pilot, Martin Withers, who
flew the world's longest ever bombing raid, on the Falklands
Islands in 1982.
The Vulcan was designed just 7 years after the Avro
Lancaster Bomber and by the same Designer, Roy Chadwick. Such
was the leap in technology that the design went on to be the
basis for Concorde. Where is Concorde now - please don't let
the Vulcan follow.
Unlike every other plane at the RIAT show, which is
supported either by a government, Airforce or a Manufacturer,
the Vulcan is solely financed by public donation. Whilst we
struggle to keep our cars on the road, just consider the
effort and expense required to keep a 50 year old ex-Nuclear
Bomber in the air - and please make a donation - so it can
continue to thrill crowds as it did last weekend.
To read more about the Vulcan and with information on
how to donate please go to this
feature that appeared in the "Sun" this week.
Thank you for any help you can give.
