Attention, an important message from your Club!

Are you willing to help your club?

From the Vice Chairman's desk

Club Vacancies - October 2008

The Club is only as good as the services provided by its volunteer officers. Do you have a small amount of time that you could give to help the Club. We are looking for two volunteers to join us.

Regalia Officer

This post becomes vacant in January 2009 when Ian Leggett has expressed a desire to step down. This Officer keeps the Clubs stock of Regalia, reorders new when needed and sources new items to add to the stock. He or she then responds to advertisements that are placed in the magazine and on this website - and supplies regalia items to members who place orders for them. There is a need to keep a financial record of the transactions in and out and prepare a return for the Treasurer at least once every financial year. A space in a bedroom dry garage or shed is required in order to hold the stock.

This is presently a committee post but that need not necessarily be the case if the proposed incumbent does not wish it.

Vanguard Spares Officer

This role is currently filled by Paul Robbins who also wishes to stand down as soon as is practical. It is not presently a Committee post.

This role ideally requires someone with a knowledge of Vanguards and who also has access to a storage area to house the Club's stock of Vanguard Spares. The Spares Officer manages the sale of the Spares and tries to source replacements and new items. Therefore a space equivalent to a single or double lock-up garage is need, for which the club can pay any regular outgoings. There is a need to keep a financial record of the transactions in and out and prepare a return for the Treasurer at least once every financial year.

Both roles might suit someone who has  a small amount of new found time on their hands and a desire to help in the running of the Club. Location for both posts is unimportant. The wages, of course, are not very good!

If you would like more information only, without commitment, please contact the vice-chairman with your phone number, or call me on 01727 868405. Alternatively please contact any committee member you might know, again without commitment. Please don't pass by on the other side, but give us a little time to help your fellow members!
