July 2008 Sales and Wants

The following classified advertisements appeared in the July 2008 Edition of the Standard Car Review, they are then delayed and published here on November 12th.  You can see them earlier - as you will receive the magazine, by joining  the club - by applying here.

Cars for sale

Nine 4 door saloon 1935 believed to still be on its original registration; we have the buff log book. 4 owners from new, two tone blue, in need of restoration. Appears to be all there, last owner informed us that the engine been overhauled. The car has always dry stored by us and the previous owner - but it does need a lot of welding ie running boards and the bottom of the doors, but the chassis and wheels are good.  Interior will need redoing but is all there. Eight deluxe 1954 with spare engine, gearbox, doors, rear wings, letter box lid, seats etc. Had body swop at some time so no trafficators. Door original, plus non original set. New claret red carpets. £600 ono. Ty Payne below.

10 Van 1961, blue. This van is a total wreck, so comes with better shell. With luck what's left of original will do up shell. Well known van, on road less than two years ago, so SORNed. Some spares as well. £650 ono.

Parts Wanted

Standard Special / Morgan engine or parts for the restoration of a 1939 Morgan 4/4 coupe. This engine was an overhead valve version of the 1267cc Flying 10 engine of 1939-40. It was especially made only for the series 1 Morgan from 1939-50; only between 500 and 600 engines were made.
