50th Anniversary Standard
International Rally.

The Standard Motor Club is pleased to
announce the preliminary programme for the 50th
Anniversary Standard international Rally - to be held at
the Royal Agriculture College, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, on 26th
- 28th June 2009
Cirencester was one of the most
important towns in Roman Britain and today is considered by many to
be the Capital of the Cotswolds.
Assembly from Friday afternoon at
the College. Reasonably priced ensuite Bed and Breakfast
accommodation is available on site. £65 for a
twin or double room (per room per night) £40 for single occupancy.
The college is about 1 mile out of the town centre on the Tetbury
Road. An easy walk if the weather is fine, Cirencester
town is well worth a visit. Especially the Roman Museum. For

Short road run of approx. 20
miles on the Friday evening, returning to the college about 7.30 pm.
A pre booked 2 course hot supper
(buffet style) at £12 per head will be available and the Students
Bar will be open for our use.
On the Saturday. there will be the
main road run of approx. 50 miles through the glorious Cotswold
countryside incorporating a lunch stop and visit.
The Grand 50th Anniversary Gala
Dinner, (3 course silver service) will be held Saturday evening
at the college. £23 per head
(pre booked) in a private dining room with bar facilities.
Static Rally and display on the
Sunday. Concours d'elegance judging in 10 classes.
Members Spares sales and Regalia available. A Starbucks
Coffee Shop serving light refreshments is on site and will be open
all day. Picnicking behind cars is permitted but regrettably
no dogs allowed on site.
The nearest campsite is a Caravan Club
Site less than a mile from the college. (Restricted to members
of the Caravan Club.) A public site, Mayfield Park is two
miles out of Cirencester.

Please note that all
activities are optional and you may join for just one, two or all
three days. All events, meals and accommodation can be booked via
the entry form, which will be published here later. In the meantime
just make a note of 26th-28th June 2009 in your diary, make a
resolution to come and join in all the fun at this most important
event. All Standards are welcomed
