50th Anniversary Rally

50th Anniversary Standard International Rally.

The Standard Motor Club is pleased to announce the preliminary programme for the 50th Anniversary Standard international Rally - to be held at the Royal Agriculture College, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, on 26th - 28th June 2009

Cirencester was one of the most important towns in Roman Britain and today is considered by many to be the Capital of the Cotswolds.

Assembly from Friday afternoon at the College.  Reasonably priced ensuite Bed and Breakfast accommodation is available on site.   £65 for a twin or double room (per room per night) £40 for single occupancy.   The college is about 1 mile out of the town centre on the Tetbury Road.   An easy walk if the weather is fine, Cirencester town is well worth a visit.  Especially the Roman Museum.  For Tourist Information click here

Short road run of approx. 20 miles on the Friday evening, returning to the college about 7.30 pm. A pre booked 2 course hot supper (buffet style) at £12 per head will be available and the Students Bar will be open for our use.

On the Saturday. there will be the main road run of approx. 50 miles through the glorious Cotswold countryside incorporating a lunch stop and visit.

The Grand 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner, (3 course silver service) will be held Saturday evening at the college. £23 per head (pre booked) in a private dining room with bar facilities.

Static Rally and display on the Sunday.  Concours d'elegance judging in 10 classes.  Members Spares sales and Regalia available.   A Starbucks Coffee Shop serving light refreshments is on site and will be open all day.  Picnicking behind cars is permitted but regrettably no dogs allowed on site.

The nearest campsite is a Caravan Club Site less than a mile from the college.  (Restricted to members of the Caravan Club.)  A public site, Mayfield Park is two miles out of Cirencester.
