Our Mission Statement:
This website is funded by the Standard Motor
Club as a service to it's members. The club, founded in 1974, exists
to promote the Standard marque and to help members, worldwide, keep their cars on the road, or restore them if needs
be. We are the only club to cater for the whole Standard Model
range. The Club charges an annual subscription. We are a mutual aid, not-for-profit
organisation, run by a democratically elected committee.
Unfortunately we can not help anyone who isn't prepared to join. If we gave non-members everything they needed for free, there
would be no financial basis for the club, so it would cease to exist
and so would this website and all our services. We would all be the poorer for that.
There is lots of information here to help you
identify your car and lots of features on members cars or
restorations. We tell you about events that the cars and their owners are
participating in. We delay the
publication of adverts for cars and
spares for sale here until members have had their pick of them
through our regular printed magazine. If, as a non-member you
want information, we will gladly give an answer or piece of advice, if we know it. If you require more of
us, you will be asked to join the club. We also have the largest
stocks of Standard Spares anywhere in the world, and are remanufacturing hard
to source spares. The spare parts service and full restoration or repair advice
are NOT
available to non-members, so please join the club and get
yourself a membership number before asking. (We are sorry, but Spares
can not be supplied to North America due to product liability issues.)
After you have enrolled as
a member, you can ask for as much advice as you
like, and we will collectively endeavour to assist you in any and every way that we can,
(but please note that other members might expect your help in return) The full range of the club's services
and spares will also
be available to you. Note that our membership fee is low compared to
other clubs and every penny of it is spent running
the club.
We are sure that you understand. Join us and join in the fun of Standard
Motoring.
