Standard 10 sold for Charity at the Restoration Show
Mike McGuire and Pam Taylor with their new Standard 10 and the Club's Chairman, Paul Newsome, right. Standard Car Sale generates £400 for Charities The Standard Motor Club was pleased to receive as a gift from the Estate of the late Mr Edwards of Llandudno a 1956 Standard 10 with instruction that proceeds from it's sale be donated to worthy causes. Members of the Club recovered the car from North Wales and carried out the necessary remedial work using parts from its Spares Warehouse. An MoT was duly secured and the car appeared at the Restoration Show at Stoneleigh, where it was promptly sold to new Club members. The £400 profit after repair expenses has now been donated to two Charities. The first is FAS Aware UK, the charity raising awareness of Foetal Alcohol Syndrome and supporting families suffering the effects of it. The second is DebRA, the national charity working on behalf of people in the UK with the genetic skin blistering condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). The Club is pleased to be able to support both charities in their important work. Report by Phil Homer Webmaster I always welcome input to these pages If you have been to an event, there are lots of members waiting to see a report and some photographs of it here. Please send them by email to: webmaster@standardmotorclub.org. Many thanks.
