Everyone
attending the Bristol Open Doors Day had a thoroughly good day. The
weather stayed mostly fine and the public turned out in droves.
Our
fourteen cars were all much admired and commented on. They all looked
very good with completed information sheets and matching rally plaques.
Mark La Turner took advantage of the expertise around him to fit the
distributor cap that Tony Pounder had brought for him - to the fascination of
the watching public, some of whom got quite involved.
The
location was fantastic, with lovely views of the tall sailing ships and steam
tug boats on the river and the splendid Bristol architecture. The Bristol
Dockyards were extremely interesting; there are Victorian workshops still in
use although now converted from the original steam power. These workshops
were open to the public just for the day and shipwrights were hard at work
shaping metal in the
