North
Wales Group at the Prestatyn Car Show

Chris
and Maldwyn Wynne’s prizewinning Standard Nine
A number of North
Wales Group members enjoyed the bank holiday sunshine on Monday 25th
May at the annual Prestatyn Car Show. This show really does go from
strength to strength as the two classic car runs on Sunday was
followed by an impressive line up over three hundred vehicles on
Monday.
The show this year
celebrated fifty years of the mini with some outstanding examples of
this sixties iconic car in attendance together with vehicles ranging
from the 1920s to the 1990s. There was something for everybody
including veteran, vintage, classic, military, commercial, american
and hot rod but in amongst the masses were the three Standards of
Chris & Maldwyn Wynne (Standard Nine), Derek James (Standard
Eight) and Bryn Heeley (Standard Big Nine).
The quality of
vehicles was outstanding and included stunning examples of a Panhard
Coupe, a Triumph Renown and an unusual Ford Model T. Despite the
competition a Standard was in the prizes as Chris and Maldwyn Wynne’s
superb Nine took third prize in the vintage class (pictured)
Some of the North
Wales Group are next "out and about" at the Clwyd Vintage
and Veteran Machinery Show at the Oswestry Show Ground on 21st
June 2009. If you are interested in joining them why not get in touch?
– everyone is welcome. Alternatively why not join us at our next gatherings on
15th July at our "Members Car Night" and/or on the 19th July
at The Caerwys Show. For further details ring me on 01352 733637
