Standard 8 in the Bhote family

Hi Phil,

I finally scanned the picture of my aunt Aloo Bhote with her Standard, what I can guess to be a flying 8, i'm told 47? The registration was BYF 8681, bought brand new. This was the first of 3 Standards bought new by them, the other two being a 55 Super 10, BYH 1997 and BYH 5123, my Pennant. Am very eager to track this car down, if it still exists!

Thanks Karl,

Yes, its correctly called just an "Eight" after the war, identified by the lack of bonnet side louvres. It was current from 1945-48. As you have sent me at least one other picture, its good that at least some survive. I hope you find your Aunt's car, who knows, this publicity might be viewed by the current owner?

Regards,

Phil
