T.
J. Richards bodied Tourer on the Standard Flying 10 Chassis,
1937/8

Andy and Judi Maltby
write from Queensland, (I think!)
This car was bought
by a Mr. Freeman on the Gold Coast new... he traded it for a nice
shiny Datsun. If he only knew what we all know now he would
not have done that.....
He had the car for
40 years. We are the fourth owners of this car, she has done 78000
original miles. We also have racq card membership dated 1940
and a rego slip and its full history of the owners and all work
done. Also, she came with a hand book 1937-38 . These are
photos of the old girl - sorry not digital of then and now and the
cover of the hand book.
We did want to hot
rod this car, if there are not a lot around it would not be fair
to do this. Have been trying to find out how many are
around, as you will see ours is different to the pictures
you have sent
These were a special
order vehicle in Australia. We contacted now Mitsubishi and they
have no idea how many but doubt it would be many,
Thanks, Andy and Judi.

Thanks Andy and
Judi,
I have enlarged your
photos as much as I dare without ruining the quality
I am building up a
collection of a number of T J Richards of Adelaide built Standards
now, but I am sure I have nowhere near the complete picture. I
have no idea how many cars they built and presently no brochures.
If anyone out there has any more information, I would be grateful
to add to the knowledge that we have.
If you would like to
see features on over 30 other Flying Standards just click here
I am aware that there are other cars
and information that could be added to this site to make it more comprehensive, so if you
have material and photographs, please let me know. Please send me, Phil Homer, a
message at: Phil Homer
