Standard 10 Dormobile In my search to bring you some of the more unusual vehicles from the Standard stable I am indebted to Peter Foster for a copy of this Dormobile Brochure. Its dated 1957 Dormobile was the brand name of Martin Walker, who carried out two different conversions on the 10 Van, a "Utilicon" where the seats folded forward to give a loading bay, and the Dormobile where the versatile seating could be removed or converted into a double bed.
Price List: The Utilicon cost £450 + purchase tax £246 7s total £676 7s. Dormobile £490 + £246 7s total £736 7s. The Companion by comparison was £485 + £243 17s = £728 17s. 6cwt van £390 + £52 12s 8d = £442 12s 8d. Is anyone aware if any of these Dormobiles survive? I would be pleased to feature one on these webpages Here are all the other pages of the brochure, click on the smaller ones to see an enlargement:
