More Photos of an Indian Selby One of only 4 surviving Standard Selbys
My regular Correspondent in India, Karl Bhote writes:
On my recent trip to Delhi I met Mr. Dimpy Kapoor who has a few vintage and classic cars, including this Standard. He tells me he bought it in the 80s from a mechanic in Jaipur, and it has been a consistent prize winner in all the events in Delhi for many years, and regularly does trips covering a couple of hundered kms. Here are more photos of the Selby. You can click on any to see enlargements: Thanks, Karl, Its good to see this car and it's owner. The Selby was coachbuilt by Avon on the 9Hp chassis, but catalogued as a Standard. I have featured this car, one of only 4 known surviving examples of this model, before, but its good to have a full colour feature on it, which will no doubt assist anyone who is restoring a Selby I am always keen to feature Standards that are being used and restored in India, so please keep sending them to me. Kind regards,
